Q
: How are you finding the move from London to the picturesque countryside of Bury?
Zac
: It fine, I enjoyed living in London & will go back for visits whenever I can, but I am happy to go wherever the football opportunities come along. I am enjoying the change of scenery & to be training regularly after such a long break.
Q
: Who is your coach & where exactly do you train?
Zac
: Danny Laws is my coach, he is quality.... I train at West Suffolk College, we train 4 days a week with games in the week & various cup matches weekends & week nights. Q
: How many players are you competing with & what is the average age?
Zac
: There is about 42 players in the college squad, I think the average age would be 17yrs/18yrs. I am one of the youngest players. Q
: Is it possible to make any comparisons to the level of football you were playing in Australia to the level you are now playing at Bury?
Zac
: Its difficult to compare, things here are so different, the surroundings, the weather, the people, the food...(good old fish & chips) so it puts both places on a different level before a ball is kicked, the coaching has been great so far, the coaching I had in Aussie was excellent & this is certainly equal, although I would probably say a lot tougher due to the cold weather conditions. Q
: With so many changes & being far from home are you missing Australia?
Zac
: Not enough to want to go home. I miss my friends & family of course but I am focused totally on my football now, especially after the frustration of my injury. My brother lives in London so that helps, then in May I have my family coming for a visit. So all is well. Q
: Finally rumor has it that the College had some recent success, true?
Zac
: Yeah I'm not exactly sure when it was, last year I think! They won the national title & then done very well in the FA youth cup, so hopefully I can be a part of that success this year. PSA would like wish Zac all the best & look forward to reporting regularly on his progression. JH.
