Anthony Limbrick

After the disappointment of being releases from Billericay Town last season Anthony Limbrick was on the hunt for a new club. He spent the off season training harder than ever, determined to to get himself into good condition even before pre season & to be one step ahead of other players for the up & coming trials & this looks like it has paid dividends.

His first venture was up to Newport County, a club in Wales who are in the Conference South.  Nothing eventuated it was again a matter of being good enough but not exceptionally better than what they already had. From there it was onto Dagenham and Redbridge, who are a full time club in the Conference League. He was there for three weeks and played some excellent football in the reserves, he was on the verge of signing for them but as always in the world of football nothing is certain & he was released after being told they were signing another left back had just been released from Newcastle United in the Premier League.

He was sent on a two week trial to semi pro outfit Northwood who are in the Southern League which feeds in to the Conference South. After impressing in the trial games Anthony was offered a contract at the end of August & signed.  Anthony told PSA "The money is ok and I have signed for one season, the team are train part time but it feels great to find a club and have some stability for the season. I am hoping to settle into the first team as a regular & look forward to playing plenty of football, & who knows with a little luck & some good performances possibly create  some interest from bigger clubs along the way"

Anthony made his debut off the bench in the 54th minute away against Grantham town
and although the result went the wrong way, Anthony put in a strong performance. Final score Grantham Town 2-0 Northwood.

If there is ever a player that deserves some football success, Anthony Limbrick is that player. If ever a young player coming to the UK in search of a pro contract should need to advice or to speak to someone on just how tough it is in the UK, Anthony is that person. We are so pleased he is finally getting some regular football & we wish him all the very best for the season, looking forward to visiting him at his new club in the very near future.
